Law firm with a concentration on Personal Injury and Workers Compensation is currently hiring an experienced Legal Assistant. The position is full time and permanent. The office schedule is flexible with a start time between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. No evenings or weekends. The firm will provide some benefits after a 60 day probationary period. Starting pay is up to $55,000 per year depending on experience.
The law firm has one attorney and one paralegal. The ideal applicant will be very analytical and able to work in a deadline driven environment. You must be highly organized and self-motivated to perform well in this firm. Applicants interested in this position should be career minded individuals who are serious about their career and focused on learning as much as possible. The attorney will provide hands on experience.
The Legal Assistant is responsible for a variety of tasks from supporting the paralegal and attorney in daily legal functions to acting as the firms front desk receptionist and handling clerical duties. The legal assistant is responsible for opening files, ordering all supporting documents such as medical records, police reports, etc. Assist with preparing basic legal documents and handling some E-Filing when needed. You will schedule hearings, mediations, and depos.
- 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant
- 1+ year of civil litigation
- Advanced computer skills
- Type 35 wpm+
